A Day Spent with the "King."

No, he isn't wax. This a picture of the real deal with my dad looking all cute in his sailor uniform.

I found me a project after going "stir crazy" from not being able to drive and work this week. I never thought I would say this, but a gal can only take so much of the "chick flick and being lazy" attitude that I was doctor prescribed with. Now that I'm feeling better, better than I have in a long time, well I needed something to do.

My office/ scrapbook room.

It could have been entered for a room on that show about "hoarding." Seriously. I started yesterday and threw out four bags of trash. Good thing today was trash day.

Anyway, it has been good, and has felt good. It has also been hard. Letting go...

But I will save those thoughts for another post.

I just found this fun little picture and thought I would share.

My dad was in the Navy in California. Eventually he became a driver for the "bigwigs" that came to the coast to visit and check out the sights. He has plenty of fun memories of those days. Meeting the "king" was one of them.

Hope you had a great week. I just realized last night that this is a holiday weekend! Enjoy!

That is SO amazing and thanks for sharing. I met the King of Rock and Roll also when I was 9 years old. I still remember that day. It was quite exciting...I did a video once about being a 'neat' hoarder'..lol. I do KNOW thought that it could very easily get out of control...Even being neat you can accumulate so much stuff..Presently I'm getting out all my Fall stuff..my goodness gracious, four bins!! lol. LOADED! Yepper, hoarder here. I'm thinking of making some nice little 'vignettes' to give to some friends and daycare moms for gifts...maybe the grandparents too for 'grandparent day'..that just came to me as I was typing,,lol. Thank You Sweet Jesus!

Thanks for praying also Mich..((hugs)) I didn't comment on your other post but wanted to let you know I've been praying.

Sis,
Thanks for the promo on yours truly. Did you remember the other picture I have from that studio visit? The one of the two officers I chaffeured, plus DR. KILDARE stars Richard Chamberlain and Raymond Massey on their set. That whole week of driving them to the different studios was an unforgetable experience.

Hope you're feeling better - have a good 3 day-er!

Love,
Jim-Dad
