What kind of couch do you have?

If you don't see me much this weekend, it will because I am drowning in a sea of dishes and buried under a mountain of laundry. It has been one of those crazy weeks where not much has gotten done around the house. Unfortunately, I know that we only have one more week of school left and if I don't at least start the summer off with a "clean" house, with the kids being home... UGH!!!

On a high note, I did purchase a new couch and love seat, which I'm hoping the hubby will pick up tomorrow. We are cheap. Why pay for delivery, when you have a hubby with a trailer. Yep! We are kind of redneck like that. :)

I also purchased a cabinet for my hall, to help sort the laundry in my hallway. I unfortunately don't have a laundry room. I just have a washer and dryer in my hallway. So, needless to say, I have had trouble with sorting the laundry, and keeping the hallway clean. Hoping that will change. I will try to post pictures of the new cabinet and furniture soon.

So, I guess my weekend will be filled with lots of cleaning (yuck!) and decorating (fun!).

I want to end with a question or two:
If you had to describe your decorating style what would it be?
Are you a "just get by" kind of cleaner or a "neat freak?"
What kind of couch do you have?

I will have my answers next post.

Oops! I realized when I was rereading my post that I used the word "unfortunately" several times too many. Sorry about that. I know I'm a blessed gal!

Have a beautiful weekend!

I use to be a neat freak...and somewhere a long the time our kids became teenagers....I went into survival mode. I realized I had bigger fish to fry...."keeping up with the kiddo's"...and then I realized I had put a lot of unnecessary stress on myself for years. I do like it neat and tidy, but when it is not...it doesn't push me over the edge. I would rather play with our granddaughter when she comes to visit, etc.

We have an antique sofa in our formal living room and a stylish traditional sofa in our family room that has NOT held up as well as I had hoped.

Blessings,
andrea

Oh I am the consummate Neat Freak and Master Organizer in our home. I can tell you where just about every thing and where it belongs. It truly is an illness.

Couches? We have a hide a bed super plushy sofa for company and guest and the occasional reading books for review type of couch so it had to be super comfy!

I'm so excited for you, I love new furniture. I would have to say I am somewhere between a just get by cleaner and a neat freak, which is a good thing or I would drive myself nuts with all my kids and granddaughter. My sofa is very plush and has way too many pillows. My next one WILL NOT have a million unattached pillows. You are right, you are blessed!!

Have a great weekend, can't wait to see the pictures!!

I'm not sure what my decorating style is...

I am definitely a neat freak.

My couch is brown leather with big metal knobby things on it.

Yay for new furniture! I am a neat freak by nature, but it's just not possible with 3 kids and a hubby. LOL! So, I get by most of the time and clean really good and spotless before big parties, etc. I do try to keep everything picked up and clean as much as possible. We just got new furniture.....it's some kind of soft suede type fabric. My decorating style is comfortable and I like sentimental things everywhere.

My decorating style.... simple. lol I try to do all those nifty decorating tips but I usually need my Mom or best friend there to help. It's just not naturally there.

I used to be more of a neat freak. I have had to chill in that department over the years because I can't work full time, have kiddos and be neat freak. We try to keep our house as neat as we can but we also don't panic if there are days we step over things until we get to the clean day.

We have a LazyBoy couch that has the recliners on each end. LOVE. IT.

Can't wait to see your new decorations/furniture!

I'm a get-by-er. I'd like to trade up in status, but so far, it hasn't happened. And if I actually had a decorating style, it would be fresh, white washed beachy with lots of quilts and antiques. Right now though...it's not.

I would like to say I am a neat freak but then i let a doggie in my house and well she sheds. I hate to dust but everything else is neat. I love leather furniture. Easy to clean.
