I Guess I Can't Complain, Can I?!!!

Sorry friends! Mich's fam has not dropped of the face of the earth. We are all still very much alive and kicking...

actually that is what we are spending most of our free time doing these days...KICKING.

My kids LOVE soccer. Kayla started playing when she was five and Jordan started when he was four. Eight years now I have spent time watching a ball being kicked around. I have invested in more cleats than I can count... Our family likes soccer. So why am I complaining?

Thanks for asking. I'm not happy because this has been a blowout season. Meaning that we started playing in September, yet my kids have only played two or three games a piece.

Reason 1... the rain. They have been rained out. I can understand that part, after all, I know that the soccer league has absolutely no control over the weather. But when the older teams miss two weeks of soccer for lights to be put up (and of course those weeks the sun was shining), this mom gets a little agitated.

Because now there is a NEW schedule and we are playing soccer till Thanksgiving, at night, IN THE COLD!!! Has anyone around here heard of flu season? Nothing like sweaty kids running around in the cold night air to stay healthy. Or mom sitting on the sidelines freezing their toes off...

Kayla has three games this week, Jordan has two... UGH!!!

But then, I signed them up for this sport. Guess I can't complain, can I?

sigh...yep we had soccer drama too. Thankful it is over and will spare any details because you just can't dwell on them. It's D-O-N-E!
Enjoy the remainder of your season. It will be done before you know it. :o)

Have a blessed week

We play our last soccer game on Saturday, and Kirk and I couldn't be happier.

The kids not so much.

But soccer is not our sport. The kids love it. But the parents? Not so much.

Stay warm!! Love ya.

Wish we could be there to see them kick a few, but somehow retirement got committed and the days, instead of being long and leisurely enough to go, shortened to the point there is not enough of them between busy, and each one has the sun rising and setting it seems only a couple of hours apart. Does it do that there?

To Kay and Jor, go get 'em! Kick that ball, run that field, get a little tired, but your legs will heal. Ole' game soccer, that ole' game soccer, it don't know nuthin', it can't say nuthin', but ole' game soccer, it jest keep goin' along! (Tune of Old Man River)
Love you,

Aww, we are not there yet. My children are still too little. I hope the rest of your season goes well! I have missed reading your blog! {grin}

We never got into soccer in our home! Josiah played baseball and basketball. Hot summers and indoor winters! We still had some miserable games to watch too! But it really is all worth it watching them play and have fun! :)

Ah, sports. You can't live with 'em; you can't live without 'em.

It certainly does make you question of the soccer coaches are parents when they schedule games in the freezing cold, snow, wind and you name it.

My oldest had her days of that and perhaps that is one of the many reasons she gave it up!

It will be over before you know it....or at least before Christmas ;) At least it will be so cold that the bugs will not be flying around....that's a good thing.
