And They Said I Couldn't Do It...

I am on a diet.

I know, I know...wrong time of the year to be cutting back. But seriously, I refused to go up another jean size and I needed to be able to breathe. So I have took action. The hard way.

I cut the carbs out.

Believe me, for this bread lovein', pasta eatin', potato cravin', individual, it hasn't been easy. When I took my kids through the Wendy's drive thru yesterday, I thought I would die smelling the french fries. But did I eat even one little tinsy winsy bite? No. Because I am flat out determined...this time.

I have told myself I will treat and reward myself with the actual holiday meals, and at an occasional party I might nibble, but here on the home front I am taking it all very serious.

I think by even posting this, I have to keep it up, right?

Anyway, the good news is that in one week I have lost 7 pounds. Woo! Hoo! A pound a day! I am so excited...

However,

I need prayer.

for I really am craving that french fry.

I feel ya for real. I just found out I had a thyroid problem and they put me on this medicine that has me hungry like I havent ate in weeks and then not hungry. I have to be careful what to eat or the lbs will roll on. I desperately am trying to lose some of the pounds left from my youngest. Ack. I have to be careful of the diets or my thyroid will sky rocket and send me off the charts again. Ack. So counting carbs is a good thing but no so good thing for me, Ugh, plus watching calorie intake daily. Ack. I hate counting anything really, I love eating. Haha. But I did the low carb diet before to an extent I may need to join you on this road. Good luck to you.

Mich,

Sounds wonderful and perhaps that reward of Thanksgiving just next week will be the lovely reward you will need to keep the momentum going. I applaud your efforts and truly want to join you.

Wow! Impressive! I have a friend that has lost 25 lbs. in 7 weeks doing low carb and cutting back on sweets. She said that she put an MnM in her mouth the other day, and then spit it out because it was too sweet tasting! :) I am a TOTAL carb addict! Maybe I should take the plunge...after the new year! :)

Sis,
I'm pulling for you! I went to the doctor the other day and his take on my condition is to made a 5% discount. In other words, eat several bites less every meal. Well, I'm trying. Problem is, my meds seem to cause my body be tricked into gaining with less food. What, does it take it out of the air? How many calories is each breath, do you suppose?

Keep up the good work!
