Sadly, I was woken up this morning at 4:00a.m. to my son throwing up in the hallway, not quite making it to the bathroom a few feet away. Poor Baby! I should have known something was not quite right when he didn't eat all his beef nachos last night, at his favorite restaurant in town. I should have known that something was off when I took him to the movies and he didn't want any popcorn or candy. And when we were at Wally World later, and I asked if he wanted to pick out a box of Little Debbie's, and he said "no," that should have been my "Mommy sign." But alas, this mom missed all the signals and had to clean up the big smelly mess in her sleep! (Sorry, for the imagery!)
As I was cleaning up, I of course am PRAYING it was something he ate and not the tummy bug. I'm remembering the kiss I gave him goodnight. The Sprite we SHARED at the movies because I am cheap like that sometimes!!! And then there was half a zillion other little things us moms do in a day and.... I DO NOT WANT THE STOMACH BUG!!! Praying real hard right now. REAL
HARD.
However, when you are down on your knees, trying to think of anything but the smell that wants to engulf you, it is amazing on where your thoughts might land. Believe it or not, I couldn't stop being "Thankful" for this young man whom I adore. Yeah, he can drive me absolutely nuts sometimes, but I wouldn't trade him for the world.
I am one blessed gal, and I know it! So as I started my New Years day a little earlier than I would have like today, I am basking in the knowledge that I can take a nap later if need be. My hubby and daughter will soon be home from their overnight youth trip and we as a family can spend the day at doing what we do best...being lazy! And just think, we have Saturday too! I am liking this 3 day weekend stuff!!!

It is now the middle of the afternoon and I am back to finish the post from this morning. I am happy to report that my family made it home safe and happy, they had a good time at "Joy Explo." Jordan is on the mend. He slept till 11:00, with no more sickness so far and even ate some Romen noodles around lunch time. He is just very tired. As for me, I was able to get a few more hours of sleep and then started on my "Junk" room/ office. Scary stuff here. Have you ever just had one of those rooms in your house where you dump all the stuff you don't want to deal with? And then it builds and builds until it becomes a "danger" zone to all who attempt to enter.
Well, I went in today. I am determined to get my little corner cleaned and polished so I can have my creative, quiet time space ready for the upcoming year. At the rate I'm going, I wonder if a three day weekend will be enough time...
I guess I had better go back to cleaning. As I clear out a lot of old stuff, throwing away yesterday's news, organizing and preparing for the year ahead, I have to stop and say "THANK YOU!" Lord! For the blessings you pour down on me and mine each and every day. I pray that I will do a better job this year of acknowledging your favor.

Just one room? Girl, my entire house is full of dump rooms, and I'm usually too tired to care. I didn't used to be this way, but then I married Billy and had two additional kids.
I really have no excuse; I do keep my kitchen clean though... and the bathroom! I know... kindof makes you want to come for a visit.

PS: Hope the stomach bug stays away from the rest of you!
Oh no. Throwing up is the worst. I hope that Jordan feels better and no more sickness.
Have a blessed new year and lots of luck with the cleaning and organizing.
So glad your young gentleman is feeling a bit better!
I started cleaning out my "surprise room" (spare bedroom) the other day. My sweet mom helped me for a few hours. I felt so much better when I could actually vacuum the carpet in there!
The "surprise room" serves as "The North Pole" during Christmas...so it was a mess!
You must show us "after pictures" of your office! :) You go!
Hope the rest of you stay well! I had the stomach bug before...and a little bit through Christmas. The first night was the worst, but for several days afterwards, I was still not right. Not fun...
Hope he bounces back quickly! :)
Glad he's on the mend, and glad that you're getting to work on your little "space". We all need that--you're inspiring me.
Oh, I do hope you do not all get it! The stomach bug is the worst in my book! Happy new year!
Sis,
Here's hoping you all are able to "crash" on this 2nd day of the new year. Our first day was a cleanup for your Mom. Can you believe it? I stayed in bed until 10:30 am. First time in a long, long, long time. I laid around the house - but Mom was determined to take down decorations - all but the outside lights she's left for me - and the new Willow Tree Nativity that you all said needed to stay up all year. She got it done, too! She's one busy person when she sets her mind.
Hope Jor is better now. Today's sun-shiny but cold. I may try to bundle up and get those lights down.
Love You,
Jim-Dad
I hope you all are feeling well! This post was very sweet!!
You are so right, so much to be thankful for. Wishing you a wonderful new year Mich!
That is not a very fun way to start the new year!! UGGGG!
But you are blessed! I am glad that Jordan is feeling better now!
I pray that you and your family have a wonderfully blessed 2010!
Sorry Jordan had the yucks for the first day of the new year! Glad you were able to keep a grateful heart in spite of it! Happy New Year!!
