Drama... A Brother's Definition

OK, I realize that this may just be one of those "you had to be there" moments and that unless you know my children personally, you may not think this is funny at all. However, I'm going to tell my little story anyway. Just pretend you thought it was cute and giggle a little and I'll be a happy camper.

Anyway, my daughter, bless her little heart has a BIG social studies test tomorrow. The teacher, is making Kayla take it, even though she missed the last two days of school, because of the tummy bug. So Kayla missed the class lectures and has a NINE page study guide which she got today. HELP! She is really is a nervous wreck...

I did what any good mom would do and told her to just do her best and try not to worry and then helped her study. It was over Greek Mythology and a bunch of other Greek history... anyone feeling her pain about now? So here we are learning everything from Greek gods, to Alexander the Great to Plato. Yep! Really fun stuff and a lot of it too! (Already praying...)

So, I was going along asking her questions from her study guide, when I asked her what the word "Drama" meant. At that precise moment Jordan walks in the room. Upon seeing his sister struggling with the correct wording for the definition he exclaimed without missing a beat;

"Kayla, that's an easy one... the answer is YOU!"

Between the look on Kayla's face and his quick smarty pants remark, I was in tears from laughing so hard. In fact it was so spontaneous that even Kayla herself smiled.

(For family knows that Kayla is the DRAMA QUEEN of the family. Have NO idea where she gets it from either! :) Can I blame it on my sister? HEE! HEE!)

Just one of those priceless moments in a sibling's life...

But then, I guess you had to be there.

Lord, I thank you every day for the smiles my children bring me. What did I ever do to deserve such blessings?!!!

Sis,
Now, I wish I had been there to help with the studies - did you read my blog on Plato's allegory? Anyway, I hope she does well on the test. Sometimes teacher types can be unyielding in their approach to a student's learning with the pressures they seem to unnecessarily apply. Not me, with all of the snow and my college class getting a difficult start this spring, I turned my first exam into a take home test. Call me an old softy, but I believe my students can be inspired to learn if they enjoy learning through innovative methods. Just saying.

After 3 boys, I now have my drama queen, but my second son, when he was in the 4th grade, won the "drama" award from his teacher.

And it wasn't for his great portrayal of Abraham Lincoln.

Wonder where they get it from?

After having two boys, our little drama queen entered in..LOL...This was precious...It's funny isn't what our children say and do at times...sometimes all you can do is burst out laughing.

LOL! The funniest jokes are those that just instantly come out! The other day at bible study, we were talking about how we should get blue snuggies and put our school logo on them and sell them for the football games. And my husband immediately said, "Yeah, we could call them snobbies." And it was so funny because alot of people who live out here are kind of snobby. LOL! I guess that's rude to say, but it was funny at the time :)

Oh, the drama!

And don't you just love a brother's honesty?

Sweet dreams.

She'll have to fight with my daughter for picture space next to the definition of drama in the dictionary. Too funny.

Cute! I really did think it was funny. Hope your daughter's test goes well. I hated that subject. Boring! I'm not looking forward to having to teach it in our homeschool.

Thanks for your prayers regarding the last post on my blog. I slept much better last night :)

God Bless,
Jackie

I love that dad just said "Just saying." That's funny.

Oh...and you can totally blame the drama on Auntie Amb. I'll claim it. Kayla and I know how to rock the drama train.

Choo Choo!
