Yesterday, we had lunch after church at the Chinese restaurant in town. It is my hubby and my kids favorite place to eat. We were eating with the music minister and his family and the guest speaker at our church. (You might remember me telling you that our pastor has left.)
The meal was good, as was the conversation. No big deal, in fact I am not even sure why I've typed up the details, since they really have nothing to do with my point... Oh well! Now that you know I had Chinese for lunch, you will understand the dessert.
A fortune cookie.
It is always fun, I think, to see the "wisdom" a little strip of white paper can hold. This particular cookie wouldn't let me down.
"The secret of happiness is not doing what one likes, but in liking what one does."
Hmm...I'll let you mull over that little tidbit this week.
I would love to know what you think.
Happy Monday!!!

I had to read it about 8 times to really get it but so True.
It is true, but I don't think it is a secret to life...I am sure you know what the purpose of life is and it is not really a secret. Living for Christ and sharing His good news.
:)
Blessings,
Amy
Great wisdom found within a fortune cookie. We will all do well to heed the advice. Even people who love their jobs are happier than those that make a ton of money at their job but hate doing it.

Oh yes, I like that. And I guess that's why there are so many unhappy people in the world, huh?
LOVE IT!
Well, it sounds like wisdom, but tougher than one would think to follow through on.
You got one tough cookie to follow. Mine always just say something generically stupid like I'm having a blessed day or something.
Hey Mich,
Sorry I haven't been around much this weekend/week. Just been going through some major struggles and *sigh*... well, I'll blog about it soon enough, I guess.
Pray for me if you think of me.
Thanks,
{hugs} Erica

I think when we live our live as we should…as ambassadors for Christ; we do all things to the glory of His name…which means doing our work as unto the Lord and not unto men. When we live that way…we have the secret of happiness.

P.S. I would love you to come to dinner!
How funny....we have been eating a good amount of Chinese food(since G is away) and love our fortune cookies. I always have to open each and every one...sometimes the messages are so interesting!
Me likey. And it's all about gratitude focus rather than focusing on lack. But somedays...so hard. Great reminder.
