The "bug" comes calling...

I guess it doesn't pay to be Mr. Nice Guy sometimes. Well at least my hubby keeps on earning jewels in his crown even if he feels unappreciated around here on earth. Kevin has the flu.

Yucky!

After making two different trips to Walgreen's and waiting over forty-five minutes, I finally got him some meds. He is camped out in the living room, going between chair and couch. I'm stocked with Lysol and chicken noodle soup. We are making it. Praying the rest of us don't get it, yet feeling like walking time bombs, while we continue with life.

I'm mean mom right now. A friend just called to ask Jordan to spend the night. I was going to let him, I just thought the little boy's family had a right to know what we are dealing with on the home front right now. His mom didn't want to risk it. Now my little boy is mad at me. It is so hard being "mom" sometimes. Some parents wouldn't have cared, but I knew this one would and she would have made a big stink about it too, if her little boy caught the flu from us. I didn't want anything to affect their friendship, but unfortunately my son can't see the "whole" picture. Oh well...

On another line of thought, my pastor resigned today after being here for eleven years. I knew it was coming, in fact that has been one of the issues that has affected my mood lately. I've been in this situation before, twice. It is hard on the families of the other ministers left behind, because it is a very stressful time for the ministers. A lot of praying has been going on around my house lately, as it should be.

Thank you for your prayers...

I hope you hubby is feeling better soon! I think that was good that you told the other mom.....it's amazing that most Mom's wouldn't care if they passed it on...that's why so many catch things at school, because they send their kids no matter what. I will pray for your church situation too.

Oh no. I am so sorry that hubs is not feeling well. Praying for a quick recovery and a special covering on the rest of your family. We hate the flu over here.

We hope that Kevin feels better soon, and that everyone else stays well. No fun, but we will be praying for you all.
Hope the week gets better for you.
We are also praying for a new minister for your church family. I have been at my home church for 19 years and we are on pastor number 3.. I am so glad that God holds us in the palm of His hands.
Much Love and Prayers, Lori

Oh I hope Kevin is feeling better soon. Will be praying for you.

You absolutely did the right things by telling the other mom that the "flu is in our house". Your son will see you did the honest and honorable thing.

I pray it stops at Kevin, that no one else gets it and that he recovers quickly.

Clorox Wipes will be your constant companion. Washing sheets, towels and washcloths will be your past-time, and running all of your tooth brushes through the dishwasher to sanitize them (unless you just buy new ones) will be a daily delight until all is well.

Above all, may you see His faithfulness and provision during this time.

Prayers,
Sharon

Oh - I would've done the same thing... one thing I don't want to share is the flu bug... and it's quite likely it will spread...

Praying for you as your church transitions. I know these are hard times, but God is faithful and will work His purposes for GOOD.

Mich,

We will be praying that your hubby gets well soon and that the rest of you don't get it as well. Not a fun way I am sure to spend your weekend. :(

It's hard to be mean.

Just necessary sometimes.

You've got a good man (prev. post -rocking babies).

Loved your favorite things around the house (prev.post).

Sweet dreams.

Have mercy... that's a day! Oh my, I hope your husband gets better very soon and that everyone else remains flu-free. My college son just reported to me today about the swine flu beginning its spread on campus. Has me a bit worried.

Prayers to you Mich. I've had days like this; seasons, in fact! May God's presence and peace be evident in your spirit and household this night.

Oh dear, I hope hubby feels better very soon, and I pray the rest of you don't get it.

I always told other moms when someone in our family was sick. I think the have a right to know what they're risking. Some don't care, and some do!

I feel for you about the pastor. It's always hard, especially when they've been there a long time.
