There is just something about them that makes me smile.
Whether it is the memories of snowmen built with my dad as a child, the wishful "dreaming of a white Christmas," or just the fact that they are just plain cute...snowmen totally represent the season for me.
Several years back, I started a collection. I have all kinds of snowmen, standing around on my counter tops and tables, but my favorites are these...
Picture #3 is my Jim Shore collection. ( I have six large snowmen and four of the ornament size.)I love the beauty and story that each one tells.
Do you remember as a child, or maybe even as an adult, how much fun it was to create the "perfect snowman?" Molding and patting the snow just right? Rolling HUGE balls of beautiful, white snow across the yard? Finding the perfect pebbles for eyes or a beautiful scarf to clothe him with? Hmmm...kind of makes one reflect on the Lord's creations. The Lord's photo album of words, the Bible, simply states: "And God saw that it was good."
Now that little thought does make me smile.
Happy December 3rd everyone! Smile, for God created each of us with great love...
Although one day I am going to ask Him about the shape of my nose...

I share your passion for snowmen. They are just adorable. I still love to make them with the kids. we have the snowman making kit. Love it.
I only got to build one snowman growing up because it just never snowed enough in TX. Ha!
:)
Love the "countdown" posts....keep it up!!
Your collection always makes me smile.
They are really really cute!
Darling post. I think your nose is just right, BTW. Lurve Jim Shore. When I was in 3rd grade, my mom made me a snow bunny. She really got into it--I don't even think she wanted my help much, because I remember coming in the house to get warm, and watching her toil on. :)
I love snowmen! I picked out our Christmas stockings one by one over the years and one day looked and realized that they're all snowmen:)
I'm really enjoying your picture countdown to Christmas!
Snowmen ROCK!
I think God rolled the perfect amount of "snow" for your nose, btw.
(not sure if you saw this on my blog last winter, I'll probably re-post it......Nev made the snowmen versions of Mary, Joseph and baby "Cheesus")
No, I don't remember how fun it is to create the perfect snowman. I've lived in Texas my whole life and I've never built a snowman... in my entire life. How sad is THAT?
I do love snowmen though and collect them!!! I have a ton and I much prefer them to "Santa". =0)
Love your snowmen collection!
And yes, I did see this post... ((I even commented above))
I just didn't see the snowmen being overshadowed by candles in this one, thus didn't have the heart to beg you for them. But in your yesterday post where your candles were in the forefront, I felt the need to notice the snowmen and beg! ha ha ha
{{hugs}} =0)
