Dear Family...

Dear Family,

I know mom has been super busy lately working and blogging and sleeping. In that order. Please be patient with your mom/wife, for I really do mean well. So here is my promise to you... this weekend I hope to tackle a few things that I have neglected this week.

Like...

I know that there are mountain climbers lined up in our hallway, for they have mistaken our laundry piles as part of the foothills of the Himalayas.

I know that a new family has moved in our house. They call themselves the Dust Mite Family.

I know that they came by the other day wanting to use our bathroom as the "before" picture for an advertisement for Mr. Clean...or wait was it Lysol? Does it even matter?

I know that Jordan thought he needed to be a poster child for Compassion, because our cabinets were bare. Or were they? Scratch that. We are just out of easy, microwavable, too much sugar, let's just call it what it is "JUNK FOOD." And milk. And bread. And... I guess I will have to go to the store after all.

So, I am writing this to let you know that this mommy is going to try and make it all up to you. I'm going in with a clothespin on my nose, scrub brush in one hand and a mop in the other. I'm going to wash, dry, fold, iron, hang....oh wait a minute, let's not get too carried away. Don't want you guys to feel that mom is sick or something. We will still only iron as needed. Certainly don't want to spoil anyone.

Alrighty then. I have a plan. So I am going to be one cleaning machine this weekend. I will get to my cleaning list right after our Church mission project tomorrow, and then after I pay the bills and then I have to study for Sunday School, make a trip to the grocery store and then I have to...

Good intentions count for something, right?

Love,
One tired mom

Mich,

I hear you on this post so much! We moms, just have so much on our plate sometimes, we just have to learn to shift some of it around so more will fit. Or wait we are supposed to take some of that off right??

Love your story and how it all ties in to the joys of motherhood.

I totally hear you. My house is in such need of a makeover. I am waiting for the kids to go back to school before I start to tackle it all. There is a lot of things on my list to do. Oh I hate dusting. ARRR. Hope you get it all done. You are one busy momma.

Well you know that i"m the mean mom, but on Saturday a.m.s each family member gets the dreaded "list" from Mom. Hey, the sooner we get it done, the sooner we can all go to a movie or play. I don't mind doing most of the cleaning, and I do, but if I'm to make these folks independent from my services one day, they have to start helping out.

At least that's my story for today.

But I remain unpopular.

Mich,
What was that OLD SONG -
"From the halls of Hima-launnndree, to the cupboards of e-mptee, we will fight our fam'ly's ba-at-tles, through each days of min-nes-tree! Oh, to fight for love and free-e-dom, and to keep our household clean, we will fight our dust-mite's 'vas-hay-shun, 'til there's no more dirt to see."

We must have that sister ESP thing going on again, because my house is a wreck, too.

And I stay home now.

I just didn't want you to feel alone....that's what it is.

I'm cleaning today, too. I'll be thinking of ya.

Love ya.

Thanks for dropping by and encouraging me. You're so sweet.

You're still a good mom, Mich. Sometimes we just get over whelmed and we lose our fizz. I often don't want to do any cleaning at all.

I like doing laundry thank goodness cuz we don't have a lot of clothes or storage for clothes.

As for dusting, mopping vacuuming...I despise those. My kids each clean a bathroom and some mirrors, clean the table, put food away, take out trash & recycle and help with dishes.

My husband unloads the dishwasher everyday and helps me motivate the kids to do their chores. I usually prep the dishes to be loaded into the dishwasher, wipe counters, etc.

And that is it. Other things either don't get done or I pay the kids extra to do them.

You are having a bad week, hang in there. Things will get better. You have a lot on your plate and maybe you need to learn how to say "No" to anymore projects, programs or events until your plate is less full.

Just a thought. Take care of you.
Love,
Nannette
