Counting Down The Days...Picture #2.

Have I told you that I get to go to my parent's house for the holidays? I'm so excited! I haven't seen them since summer. My parents are retired, but for some reason are busier than ever... Add the fact that I'm married to a minister and my kids go to public school, and we never seem to have any free time on the weekends as well as during the week!!!

Anyway, one of my favorite parts of the holiday is being with my family. I am so blessed, and I know it. I really don't need a holiday to realize what a great family I have, but it is always nice to send an extra hug with words their way, as well as a prayer of THANKS!!!

So my picture #2 of my Christmas countdown is...

Aren't they just the cutest?!!!

You may have seen my dad around blog land. He is known as "Jim-Dad." His Spiritual gift must be encouragement, for he is always there with an encouraging word. He leaves me some of the sweetest comments. He has NEVER met a stranger! He is also very creative. I don't think there is anything he couldn't make or create if he put his mind to it. He is a daily inspiration to all of us who love him.

My mom, well I think she is simply the greatest. She has always had the patience of a saint to put up with all of us. She is one of the most giving and selfless individuals I know and I want to be just like her when I finish growing up!!! :)

I am one blessed gal!

I have always wondered what kind of parents Mary and Joseph were? They must have been extraordinary individuals for God to trust "His one and only Son" to their tender care. Awesome thought, huh?

So, today is Day #2 of my countdown. Take a minute today to thank the Lord for those parental figures in your life that love and inspire you everyday. I realize many have gone on to be with the Lord, but even the memories once shared with them hold special blessings.

Happy December 2ND Friends!!!

What a lovely tribute. Lurve Jim-Dad's comments and totally apparent love and support for both you and Amber. You are blessed, indeed. And we're blessed because we get to "know" you. And them.

Yes! They are the cutest! I have noticed your dad's comments around. It is nice to have a face to go with the comment now! I am sure that they were both so blessed that you did this post as them being an important part of your countdown to Christmas.

Oh, that is so woderful! I don't think I'll get to see my parents for Christmas this year. We went to visit them in October (it took three days of driving!). I know I'm going to miss sharing the Holidays with them.

I hope you have a wonderful time!

Jim-Dad is adorable and you and your mother are dead-on darling look-alikes! I'm so glad you'll be able to be with them this year. I'm heading to my folks tomorrow to help my mother with her Saturday open house for the rotary. I'll enjoy having a day away from the craziness around here! Trading one crazy for another kind of crazy.

Happy weekend, and the trees look lovely and inviting. My son chose colored lights this year. Just not the same for me, but hey, he's a kid.
